Aconcagua Valley
Follow a river from the Andes toward the Pacific. Aconcagua brings inland red-wine traditions, cooler coastal vineyards and the California–Chile partnership behind Seña into the same regional journey.

The wine-coloured dot marks a general location, not legal vineyard boundaries.

A wider view to put the region in context. Both maps face north.
First, find your bearings
Where are we?
Aconcagua Valley lies north of Santiago in central Chile, following the Aconcagua River across the country toward the Pacific. Los Andes, San Felipe, Panquehue and Quillota help orient a journey from the inland valley toward the coast. Our marker locates the general wine landscape, not an estate or a legal appellation boundary.
From the place to the glass
Start with these conversations.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère and Syrah
Begin with the inland red-wine conversation, then ask whether a bottle is a single-varietal wine or a blend. A familiar grape can appear in different roles depending on the maker and vintage.
A cooler coastal conversation
Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir feature in the association’s coastal account. Coast and inland are useful starting clues; the producer’s specific vineyard information gives a closer view.
Malbec in a Chilean blend
Seña 2022 includes Malbec alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère and Petit Verdot. This opens a route beyond Malbec’s familiar Argentine association without turning one estate’s blend into a regional rule.
Look a little closer
A region has places within it.
Panquehue and the inland valley
The local tourism catalogue connects Panquehue with producers including Errázuriz and Von Siebenthal. Use these as starting names for further discovery, rather than treating every nearby winery as the same enterprise.
Los Andes and San Felipe
These towns orient the eastern valley. A regional route may connect wine with archaeology, mountain landscapes and local history. A cellar address and the growing origin of a particular bottle still need to be checked separately.
Ocoa and Seña
Our Seña story follows Eduardo Chadwick, Robert Mondavi and the vineyard search. The estate’s hillside setting gives us a focused example within a much larger valley, with a dated blend and a comparison between barrels and foudres.
A name with a story
What the label can tell you.
Aconcagua Valley is the focus here. The broader Aconcagua wine region also includes other valleys, such as Casablanca and San Antonio; a shared regional umbrella does not make their vineyards identical. Read the exact geographical wording on the label, then ask for the grape composition and cellar choices of that wine.
A small Cork Dork discovery
Let the map join the tasting.
Choose one Aconcagua red and one coastal white or Pinot Noir account. Locate the vineyards and list the grapes, smaller origins and vessels. Then read Seña 2022: which details belong to the valley, which to the estate, and which to that particular vintage?
Small pours, your own words, and no marks for impressive vocabulary.
Where shall we wander next?
